Mother’s Day rice planting activity for the year 2022 and tree planting activity for campus development

Kasetsart University, Kamphaeng Saen Campus organized Mother’s Day rice planting activity for the year 2022 and tree planting activity to develop Kamphaeng Saen campus.  There were administrators, faculty members, staff and students from various faculties participating in the activity.  These activities have been organized by the university every year on Mother’s Day annually.  The objectives of this project were to integrate rice cultivation culture with cultivation techniques, including agricultural knowledge, rice planting technology;  as for planting trees for campus development, it was an activity aimed at building unity and cultivating a good awareness of environmental conservation among personnel and students.

In planting trees on national important days and celebrating 80 years of KU” activity There were administrators, personnel and students from the Faculty of Agriculture, community leaders and villagers in the community to plant trees such as mahogany, monkey flower tree, black rosewood, bungor  and Siamese Rosewood, totaling 770 trees at Kanchanaburi Research Station, Research and Academic Service Center, Faculty of Agriculture, Kasetsart University, campus Kamphaeng Saen, and gave seedlings to the people in the communities surrounding the research station This activity has promoted and supported students  , personnel, alumni, community and people in the surrounding areas to take part in solving global warming problems, add green space, conserve and nourish forest resources in Kanchanaburi Research Station, create awareness of the importance of conservation of forest resources.  It is also a learning center on botany and the environment.

Project to carry on the tradition of harvesting rice 

The project to carry on the tradition of Long Khaek Kiew Khaw (gathering for growing rice) organized by the student club of the Faculty of Natural Resources and Agro Industry on November 9, 2021. Asst.  Prof. Dr. Watcharapong Inthawong, Vice Rector for Chalerm Phrakiat Campus, Sakon Nakhon Province Presided over the opening of the 2021 Long Khaek Kiew Khaw (gathering for growing rice) tradition, organized by the Student Club of the Faculty of Natural Resources and Agro- Industry, with Prof. Kriengkrai Promnarrit, Assistant to the Rector for Planning and Student Affairs, Asst.  Prof. Dr. Suphasit Sitthapanich, Dean of the Faculty of Natural Resources and Agro-Industry, Dr. Phasakorn Ongart, Dean of the Faculty of Public Health and students of the Faculty of Natural Resources and Agro-Industry joined the project at the Sample Plot.  (KU Plant Farm).  Long Khaek Kiew Khaw (gathering for growing rice) is a cultural tradition of generosity and support of people in society in the past that is lost because of the money-based economy that makes Thai people in this day know the word Long Khaek in the wrong.  .  meaning.  Few people really understand the meaning.  The occupation of Thai farmers is related to agriculture, whether it is farming or gardening, which is related to the duration of the sky and the rain, so they must hurry to plant and harvest.  Therefore, the Student Club of the Faculty of Natural Resources and Agro-Industry recognizes the importance of stimulating the new generation to know the way of agriculture.  Therefore, the project project was created to allow students who participated in the project to understand the importance of the traditional ceremony and to instill awareness among Thai youths about the importance of agriculture.  It also promoted the traditional culture of Thailand, where the rice harvested was Riceberry, KorKhor 15 rice and Kam rice.

Conservation of Thai culture, continuing the Songkran tradition of the year 2022

Kasetsart University, Kamphaeng Saen Campus has organized a Thai cultural conservation event to carry on the Songkran tradition for the year 2022, with a ceremony to bathe the Buddha image, pour water to pray for blessings from executives and seniors of Kamphaeng Saen Campus, in which a team of executives, Dean, Director of the Office, Heads of departments and personnel joined together to make merit, pour water, pray for blessings and carry on Thai traditions at the Kasetsart Buddhist Park, Kamphaeng Saen.

Sports competition for the health of personnel within Kasetsart University for the year 2022

Kasetsart University personnel participated in the sport competition for the health of internal personnel for the year 2022 between 8 – 26 August 2022 divided into 4 colors as follows: pink, blue, purple, orange.  There were sports competitions as follows: basketball, Men’s Volleyball – Women’s Table Tennis, Petanque, Swimming, Badminton, Healthy Aerobics, Rowing, Chair Ball, Women’s Athletics, Recreational Sports to strengthen the unity of personnel including encouraging personnel to have good health.

The 55th Kasetsart University Traditional Football Competition for Personnel, 2022 to win the royal trophy from Her Royal Highness Princess Chulabhorn Krom Phra Srisavangavadhana between 6 – 30 May 2022 at Insee Chandrasathit Stadium, Kasetsart University.

The 16th Kaset Fair, Sriracha Campus 

The 16th Kaset Fair Sriracha Campus between 26 August – 4 September 2022 is an annual event for Sriracha people.  The highlight of the event is the sale of products from the U2T University to Tambon project, which Kasetsart University, Sriracha campus went to develop products with the villagers in the community, OTOP products, handmade products, furniture, agricultural products, IT automotive technology, local food, animals, and a wide variety of ornamental plants and flowers.  There are 8 zones of goods and services as follows:

Kaset Fair, Bangkhen Campus, 2022 

Kaset Fair, Bang Khen Campus, 2022, was held on January 28 – February 5, 2022 on the theme of “A new way of agriculture after the Covid disaster”. Moving forward to create a well-being and well-being, together to come out and live a new normal life under intensive measures according to public health practices to prevent Covid-19.  by giving the concept of living and doing activities safely under the COVID situation

For the 2022 Kaset Fair, the objective was to disseminate research results and innovations of the university to the society, open learning to students, staff and teachers by using Kaset Fair as a field laboratory to transfer knowledge in all dimensions from the classroom, help people’s society. It was also a channel to help farmers, entrepreneurs to earn income from selling agricultural products, resulting in a circular economy back to the community and society, creating happiness for the family. At the same time, the Kaset fair was expected to be a model for daily life in a new way as we all needed to live our lives to move forward, including work, career, schooling, doing activities and roles in society safely under the Covid situation. The university had established public health guidelines for the prevention of the spread of the novel coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) according to the safety measures for the organization of the 2022 Kaset Fair for all parties to understand and work together to strictly follow.  

Activities of Kaset Fair for the year 2022 included KU Innovation Research Show, Plant and Fruit Contest, Betta Fish Contest, Ready-to-cook Thai Curry Paste Product Contest, Curry Product Competition, Environmentally Friendly Product Contest, TGDA Awards 2022, student shop group, Arts and culture performances, music, dances and a group of shops selling agricultural products from farmers, Nonsi Floating Market, consumer goods, miscellaneous goods from entrepreneurs. This year, Kasetsart University supported the area to create knowledge and understanding on BCG for entrepreneurs and the public at the Kaset Fair by joining forces with the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation under the project of the Ministry of Education, BCG Market @Kaset Fair. Approximately 100 entrepreneurs under various departments of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research, and Innovation participated. It also opened an online platform.  Kasefair.kyu.ac.tk, allowing everyone to visit the virtual Kaset fair and choose products throughout the event.

Dr. Chongrak Watcharinrat, President of Kasetsart University said, “From the mission of taking care of the health and safety of students and personnel to the development of the university mission in teaching both online/offline and hybrid, taking care of scholarships, alleviating  suffering of students, ongoing research, academic services such as universities to sub-district U2T as well as the continuous development of academic projects, business incubation, start up, spin off; addition, helping people in crisis, including basic equipment to help people infected with COVID-19, being a field hospital, community isolation and a vaccine center in Bang Khen, Kamphaeng Saen, Sakon Nakhon. Kasetsart University has continued to operate, but one thing that must continue after two years of facing problems is the well-being of Thai people, which is what Kasetsart University intends to develop in terms of knowledge, innovation for sustainable development of the country. Therefore, Kasetsart University has organized the Kaset Fair in the new normal era between January 28 and February 5, 2022 for students to practice outside the classroom. This year, there are more than 150 groups of students asking for space, totaling more than 500 students involved, and there are shops at the club level, a number of clubs that will have a large number of students participating. There are l volunteers who help in conducting online systems, public relations, organizing competitions for plants, environments and innovations, which are considered to train students to work as a team, to be entrepreneurs, to be a volunteers, as well as patience in  Real work from morning till evening 9 days. They will learn the real exhaustion, real loss and real profit. Students will understand how to be an entrepreneur. Kasetsart University has many innovations available in the field of economic, social, environmental, national and international online forums, more than 1,200 groups of farmers and entrepreneurs.” 

According to a summary of the assessment of the economic and social benefits of the Kaset Fair organized by the Faculty of Economics, Kasetsart University, it was found that the Kasetsart Fair had a direct and indirect economic value of more than 4,800 million baht. Knowledge and innovation, reputation for credibility and brand of entrepreneurs have made Kasetsart University stand out and be proud that Kasetsart University to be a part to help the nation and society. ปี This year, the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research, and Innovation and the National Science and Technology Development Agency also participated in exhibiting and giving knowledge about BCG by bringing products from the U2T project from various universities to more than 100 stores. In addition, in addition to strict public health measures, KU has also helped alleviate people’s suffering by bringing cheap pork, cows, chicken eggs, and being the products of the university to help people and also open vaccinations for the general public to help the country  and to help people get access to vaccines faster and more secure. “We have to come out and live a normal life after covid-19 and live safely, able to live happily and sustainably in order for society and the country to progress and be able to compete with other civilized countries.”

Founding Day of Kasetsart University

Students and staff of Kasetsart University organized activities to do good deeds for society.  Activities consisted of a wreath-laying ceremony honoring the Sam Burapha Chan Monument, Burapha Teacher who initiated and pioneered the foundation of agriculture and the development of the country’s agricultural educational institutes and growing into Kasetsart University, the first agricultural institute of higher education in Thailand which was established as Kasetsart University on February 2, 1943.

There were two types of wreath-laying activities under the COVID-19 situation: online wreath laying and wreath laying at the Sam Burapha Chan Monument.  In addition, Kasetsart University had opened a service for Pfizer vaccination needle 3 and 4 for students and the public by walk-in, without reservation, limited to 3,079 doses, which had received a large number of people’s attention.  At the same time, Kasetsart University students gathered to organize activities, KU students do good deeds for the 79th year of KU, consisting of students from the Faculty of Agriculture and the volunteer dormitory children to help the community, join to pass on the Kaset Fair.  menu from Ruang Khao Restaurant, Faculty of Agriculture, daily food from New bar shop with agricultural milk and essential life supplies during the covid situation to donate to the communities surrounding the university including Rong Soob Community, Soi 45 Community, Flat Community, Department of Academic.  Affairs and the community behind the Royal Forest Department.  They were encouraged to join a group to do volunteer activities to serve the society to promote public consciousness and social contributions to students and university personnel.  This is a tradition that occurs every year.

Khon performance in the “Sri Suk Dramatic Work” project of the year 2012 by the Khon Lakhon Club of Kasetsart University.

Khon performing arts activities are part of the conservation of the national dramatic heritage, which UNESCO has registered the Khon performance as an Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH).  Khon is a unique performing art that has been present and has been with Thai people for a long time.  For the show program consisted of the Khon performance, the “Samnak Kha Khuen Hueng” series and the “Khub Phiphek” series.

“15-kilometers Forestry Running Tradition” Project 

The “15-kilometers Forestry Running Tradition” Project is an annual event that continues the traditions of the students of the Faculty of Forestry.  There are students of every year to participate in running activities to promote good health and be ready to be responsible for studying and working in the field that requires quite a lot of patience in the forestry field.

Kasetsart University, Kamphaeng Saen Campus organized a candle offering ceremony for the year 2022, with the administrators of Kamphaeng Saen campus, personnel and university students joining the ceremony to offer candles, rain showers, and Thai Dharma items to monks on the occasion of the Buddhist Lent at Don Makok Temple, Don Khoi Sub-district, Kamphaeng Saen District, Nakhon Pathom Province.

Kasetsart University, Kamphaeng Saen Campus held a candle casting ceremony for the year 2022 at the Kasetsart Buddhist Park, Kamphaeng Saen to bring the candle to offer to the monks to worship as a charity and doing the activities of monks during the Buddhist Lent.  period for 3 months.  The university held a candle offering ceremony at Don Makok Temple, Don Khoi Sub-district, Kamphaeng Saen District, Nakhon Pathom Province.
